Apache Junction’s Independent Insurance Agency
Protecting Families and Businesses Since 1977
Cook Insurance is Apache Junction’s family-owned independent agency. Since 1977, we have helped East Valley families and businesses find the right coverage at the right price – by shopping multiple top-rated carriers on your behalf, not locking you into a single company. When your rate goes up at renewal, we go back to market. That is the independent advantage.

Our Story
49 Years of Protecting Apache Junction Families & Businesses
Cook Insurance was founded in 1977 by Ron Cook right here in Apache Junction. Today, co-owner Steven Wade leads the agency with a team carrying decades of hands-on Arizona insurance experience across every line they write.
We are not tied to any single insurance company. When you call us, we compare multiple top-rated carriers on your behalf – and we keep doing that at every renewal. No single-company bias. No hidden incentives. Just honest advice from people who have been doing this since before most of our clients were born.
We know Apache Junction. The summer monsoons. The wildfire zones near the Superstition Mountains. The manufactured home communities. The snowbirds heading south to Rocky Point. We have been writing policies for every one of these situations since 1977.

Why Arizona Insurance Is Different
Arizona Risks Standard Policies Often Miss
Living near the Superstition Mountains means specific coverage questions that generic online platforms and captive agents rarely know how to answer. Here is what actually matters in the East Valley.
Arizona’s monsoon season brings high winds, flash flooding, hail, and dust storms to the East Valley every year from mid-June through September. Standard homeowners policies often carry separate wind and hail deductibles that policyholders never knew about - until they file a claim. We review your deductibles and exclusions before monsoon season starts, not after your roof takes a hit or your vehicle is buried.
More than 64% of Apache Junction’s buildings carry a high wildfire risk rating due to proximity to the Superstition and Goldfield mountain wilderness. Insurance carriers have been raising premiums, adding wildfire surcharges, and non-renewing East Valley homeowners in wildland-urban interface zones. As an independent agency, we access multiple carriers and find replacement coverage when your current company exits the market.
Apache Junction has more manufactured and mobile home communities per capita than most Arizona cities - including Superstition Sunrise, Rock Shadows, Palmas Del Sol, and dozens more. These homes require specialised policies that a standard HO-3 homeowners form cannot provide. Construction differences, wind resistance ratings, and lot ownership structures all affect coverage requirements in ways most insurance agencies are not equipped to handle.
Nearly 12% of Arizona drivers carry no auto insurance at all. If one of them hits you, your standard liability policy pays nothing toward your own repairs or medical bills. Uninsured motorist coverage is not legally required in Arizona - meaning many drivers unknowingly waive it. We explain this before every auto policy is signed so every client understands exactly what they are choosing
Apache Junction is home to thousands of snowbirds, retirees, and families who cross into Mexico seasonally for Rocky Point and beyond. Most do not know that standard US auto policies provide zero legal coverage south of the border. Mexican law requires a separate policy from a Mexican-licensed insurer. Without one, Mexican authorities can detain you after an accident regardless of who was at fault.
Our Services
Personal and Business Insurance Coverage for Every Arizona Need
From personal auto and home insurance to commercial coverage for East Valley businesses, Cook Insurance handles every type of coverage Arizona families and business owners need – all from A-Rated carriers, all shopped across multiple companies so you never overpay.
Auto Insurance
Arizona's minimum liability limits rarely cover the real cost of a serious accident. We shop multiple carriers to match you with the right liability, collision, comprehensive, and uninsured motorist coverage - at the best rate for your driving record and budget.
Business Insurance
East Valley businesses face risks that generic policies miss. We build commercial packages covering general liability, commercial property, commercial auto, workers compensation, and bonds - tailored to your industry's actual exposure, not a one-size-fits-all template designed for everyone and no one.
Home Insurance
Apache Junction homeowners face risks most national policies aren't built for - monsoon wind and hail, wildfire flooding, and proximity to the Superstition Mountains. We compare carriers to find dwelling, property, and liability coverage that reflects what can actually happen here.
Mobile Home Insurance
Apache Junction has one of Arizona's highest concentrations of manufactured homes - and standard policies don't cover them correctly. We've spent a decade specializing here, working exclusively with A-Rated carriers that understand manufactured home construction, wind ratings, and lot ownership structures.
Life Insurance
Finding the right life insurance doesn't need to be complicated. We walk you through term and whole life options in plain language, explain what each one costs and covers, and recommend a plan that fits your family's needs and budget.
Mexico Auto Insurance
Your US auto policy is void the moment you enter Mexico. Driving without local coverage can get you detained after an accident regardless of fault. Through our Mexipass partnership, we provide fast, affordable coverage for East Valley drivers heading south.
Why Clients Choose Cook Insurance
The Independent Advantage - More Carriers, Better Coverage
Independent Agency
We represent 14 carriers, not one. That gives you real options at every price point - and it means we can shop the market again whenever your situation changes. No hidden bias toward any single company.
Local Since 1977
We have been on Apache Trail for nearly five decades. We know the East Valley's risks - monsoon season, wildfire zones near the Superstition Mountains, the manufactured home market, snowbird coverage needs. We do not learn your area from a ZIP code database. We live and work here.
A-Rated Carriers Only
Every carrier in our network holds an A rating from AM Best. That rating is not a marketing label - it is a measure of financial strength. It means that when you file a claim, the carrier has the reserves to pay it quickly and in full.
You Talk to the Owners
Steven Wade is hands-on in the office every day. When you call 480-986-4400, you are not routed to a national call center. You talk to the person who owns the agency and has a personal stake in getting your coverage right.

Why an Independent Agent Is Better for You
Common Mistake
Our Approach
- Buying from a captive agent who can only offer one company's products.
- Shopping 14 carriers to find the best rate and the right coverage for your situation.
- Renewing the same policy year after year without ever comparing the market.
- Reviewing your coverage at every renewal and going back to the market whenever your rate moves.
- Not knowing what your policy actually covers until you file a claim and find out the hard way.
- Explaining your coverage in plain English before you sign - so you know exactly what you have.
Captive Agent vs. Independent Agent.
A captive agent works for one insurance company - State Farm, Allstate, Farmers, or whoever signs their paycheck. Their job is to sell you that company's products. They cannot shop around for you because they are not allowed to. An independent agent like Cook Insurance works with many carriers. That means more options for you, honest pricing comparisons, and advice that is tied to your needs - not to any one company's sales targets.
Our Process
Getting Insured in Apache Junction Is Simple
01
We Listen.
Tell us what you need to protect. We ask the right questions upfront - your home, vehicles, business, family, and budget - so we understand your full picture before we start shopping.
02
We Shop.
We compare options across multiple carriers to find the right coverage at the right price. Because we are independent, we can show you options a captive agent is simply not allowed to offer.
03
We Explain.
We walk you through your options in plain English - what each policy covers, what it excludes, what your deductibles mean in a real claim, and which option we recommend and why.
04
We Stay.
After you are covered, we are still here. Policy changes, claim questions, renewals, adding a vehicle - whatever comes up, you call the same number and talk to the same people.

Common Questions
FAQs About Insurance in Apache Junction, AZ
These are the questions Apache Junction families and business owners ask us most. Don’t see yours? Call 480-986-4400 – a real agent answers.
For auto, have your driver's licence, vehicle details, and current policy handy. For home or mobile home, we need the property address, year built, and current coverage if you have it. For business coverage, a brief description of operations and your payroll or revenue estimate gets us started. We handle the rest - you do not need to come prepared with anything formal.
Yes. We work with carriers that specialise in non-standard and high-risk coverage, including Dairyland and Gainsco. If you have been turned down elsewhere or are paying a high rate because of past incidents, we can almost always find a legitimate option and work toward moving you to a standard carrier as your record improves.
We hold active licences in Arizona, Utah, Idaho, and California. If you own property, vehicles, or a business across multiple western states, we can manage everything from one agency relationship - no need to maintain separate agents in each state.
Each carrier has its own online payment portal and client login. Our website's Carriers page lists direct links to every payment portal so you can pay or access documents without calling us. If you ever have trouble, call 480-986-4400 and we will walk you through it.
Call us first at 480-986-4400. We will tell you exactly what to document, explain your carrier's claims process, and help you submit everything correctly from the start. Filing a claim the right way from day one protects your settlement. You are not on your own with a 1-800 number trying to figure it out under stress.
Absolutely. Bundling is one of the easiest ways to save on insurance. We compare bundle options across our carrier network to find the combination that saves you the most while keeping your coverage solid.
